Pause app privacy policy

About this policy

This policy covers the Pause iOS app operated by Pause Botanica Inc. It is separate from the policies for purchases of physical products on our website.

Your entries

Pause stores the symptoms, sleep, mood, meals, photos, routines, medication details and notes you choose to enter on your device. Pause does not require an account or upload your journal to a Pause server. Your journal does not automatically sync between devices. Avoid putting information about other people in your notes.

Optional permissions

Camera and photo access are used for meal capture when you choose them. With your permission, Apple Health access reads selected sleep, heart rate, weight and step data. You can change permissions in iOS Settings and Apple Health. Reminders use notification permission. These permissions are not consent to advertising or data sales.

Optional on-device AI

When you enable AI, Apple's on-device model processes your messages and relevant journal information on supported devices. Pause does not send these requests to an AI server. You can disable AI in Profile. AI replies may be inaccurate and do not replace medical care.

Reports and exports

Reporting prepares the selected reply or analysis and your reason for you to review and share. No report is automatically sent. Other messages are not automatically attached. Reports and files you export remain private until you choose a recipient in the system sharing controls. Recipients handle shared copies under their own practices. If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to send and use it to respond to your request. Do not include detailed health records in an initial email.

Subscriptions

Apple processes App Store payments. Pause uses StoreKit to read product and subscription transaction information, including whether your access is active. We do not receive your payment card number from Apple. Cancelling an Apple subscription and deleting your Pause data are separate actions.

Service providers

Apple provides platform, on-device AI, Health and purchase services. External links and services you explicitly open have their own privacy practices. We do not sell your health data or use it for targeted advertising. This app does not train an AI model on your entries.

Keeping and deleting information

Device records remain until you delete them, delete your app data, or remove the app; device backups may retain copies according to your Apple settings. Use the data deletion tools to erase local records. Pause does not maintain a server copy of your journal. Support correspondence is kept as needed to handle your request and meet applicable legal obligations. Copies you exported or shared are outside the app's deletion controls.

Children and updates

Pause is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We may update this policy as the app changes. The date and revised text will be available in the app and on our website. New uses requiring consent will be presented before you opt in.
